We spoke to the lady in The Woolpack pub and they are happy for us to go in for lunch. We will need to phone at 10 am to let them know numbers . We have a copy of the lunch menu, which is the basic Greene King chain menu for those of you familiar with this. It will probably be helpful if we choose and I can phone through the orders.

Saturday 9th December

We will meet at Toddington Village Hall car park at 9.30 ready to start at 9.45.

Ruth did a second reccki on Wednesday, a dry frosty day. The road past the golf course was flooded in two places and the first kilometer of the walk (not even the muddiest part) was a quagmire.  More rain is forecast.  So back to the drawing board.....
As most ramblers will pass through Toddington on their way to Tilsworth golf club, there is easy parking and there are plenty of walks from there, we have decided to write off Tilsworth and walk to the West of Toddington, where we don't often go. It is 5 miles, and we will have a BRIEF stop for coffee. We should be back to TVH by 12.15 to give us time to get to the Golf Club and a little contingency.  Most of it is on grass, very little mud, but there are at least 4 stiles on the return journey.

As this is rather late information, please let anyone that you meet before Saturday be aware of the changes.  This walk will be followed by Christmas Lunch at Tilsworth Golf Club  -  12.30  -  1 pm

changed due to flooding
-The walk before the Christmas Dinner will be led by Ruth.  4 miles.   Leave from Toddington Village Hall at 10am, especially if you need a lift, or 10.15 at Tilsworth: continue past the golf course for about half a mile. Park on the road triangle on the right, outside the Anchor pub, or if space is tight, go to the far side of the triangle, turn left into Bury Rise, (a cul-de-sac) and park along there (NOT on the grass verge!!).We have done our best to avoid the worst of the mud, but a little is to be expected. There will be a brief stop for a drink (bottle or thermos) at Stanbridge church.
Sunday 17th December   -
Willen Hospice is hosting a 'Santa Dash'  on Sunday 17th December where sponsored participants dress as Santa and run/walk around Willen Lake North.
We will be supporting them by parking at the car park by the canal at the far end of Campbell Park and walking to meet the Santas.
Approach the car pak via Overgate and turn off at Green Lane Roundabout. Grid reference - (OS Map 192) 867399. Nearest postcode MK9 4AD
We will leave the car park at 10 am prompt and the walk will be 3.5 miles. This could be shortened for anybody who wishes.
We will be able to go into the grounds of the Hospice where there will be stalls and drinks available.  You may also like to bring your own refreshments.
Please enter into the spirit of the day by wearing something festive, (hat, scarf, tinsel etc.)  You may also like to make a donation to Willen Hospice somewhere along the line.
Contact Beryl on  who will have some spare spaces in her car from Flitwick.  or
Contact Brenda  to arrange a lift from TVH car park.

Thursday 28th December,   5 miles, Toddington to Tebworth via the west.

Meet Toddington Village Hall ready to leave at 9.30.

Please note that if it is raining at 9.30 and forecast to continue for the rest of the morning. We will NOT go. If in doubt, eg drizzle, please phone before 9. 10 to check if it is still on : 01525 634240

We walk to the West of Toddington, where we don't often go. It is 5 miles, and we will have a BRIEF stop for coffee. When I did the recki I saw a pair of hares. Fingers crossed they will be in the same place. Most of it is on grass, very little mud, but there are at least 4 stiles on the return journey.

This Sunday Stroll is to see the bluebells in Kings Wood.   They are stunning.   The car park at Houghton House, Ampthill is quite small so if you could arrange to travel together it would help the situation.   The walk is flat and not muddy.   (A longer version can be organised but it would include mud and up and downhill.)  So our chosen walk is a “there and back walk”.   Bring a drink and snack if desired.
